Good Clean Fun |
| Wednesday, September 20, 2006 |
Over the past days we have experienced much. The one thing that may be a surprise is the joy and happiness we have seen. I can't fathom the number of smiles seen on the faces of the Ugandan children and adults. Not just by seeing us, but also with interactions between themselves. They can bring fun to anything that they do. Beyond what we have seen, Violet has shared many stories of traditions that in the U.S can be drab and boring that are taken to a new level of fun in Uganda.
I think about the story of us towing back our van from a very rural village at night (no street lights here). There were three men in the back of an open truck with us, with goats. We had many laughs (see City Slicker blog).
The lesson pressed upon us is that joy comes from our inner self. We thank God for the lessons learned and the opportunity to experience fun and joy Ugandan style!!
