Wow...only 23 days until we leave behind what is familar and journey to Uganda. We have our passports, visas, and packing lists. We have wired the $8500 USD for the drilling of the bore hole in Naigobia. We're hoping to have to joy of being there when the church and community commissions the well.
I met with the elder board of a local church that is close to the Petry family. They were so supportive of our trip and efforts that they are trying to provide us with a considerable sum to meet local needs and fund micro-loans for enterprise.
We've been talking a lot about how we can build our relationship with this village in such a way that we don't create dependency. Instead, we want to foster the concept that the gift they receive should be the springboard to blessings to others that THEY can provide! We're given blessings so we can pass them on.
Anyhow, we'll be using this website to keep everyone informed about our journeys and progress. We're hoping to have access to an internet cafe each day so we can add a post and maybe even pictures (if we have decent bandwidth, which is not expected).
