The medical supplies have arrived... |
| Tuesday, September 12, 2006 |
We are pretty overwhelmed by the response of so many who have given us bottles of medicine, or even bags or cases! We've also received about $500 for purchase of additional basic med supplies...so we will be filling the six suitcases!
I can't stand to see my children suffer...especially my youngest son (3 yrs old). If circumstances were different (and they very well could have been), how grateful would you be for someone who provided some fever reducer or vitamins for a malnourished child of yours? Like Bono said, this isn't a charity issue...its a justice issue. Where you live should determine whether you live.
Even beyond the gifts given, you've expressed your love and concern. God has not forgotten about the great continent of Africa. I pray that someday the church will be leading the way in solving the mammoth issues of hunger, clean water, education, ego-centric leadership, and spiritual emptiness.
We couldn't be more thrilled to be leaving in less than 48 hours! If you have been a part of making the clean water well or our medical response possible, THANK YOU AGAIN! We are blessed to be ambassadors for you, and for God himself! I can't help but believe that if the United States spent as much on meeting basic needs as we do at waging war, that public sentiment of the west might be much more favorable. Plus, we'd have all God's promises of those who care for the orphan, widow, needy, and alien...we'd have God's blessing and protection. Sorry...got a bit political there...I didn't mean it!
Keep an open ear...
